Savignano sul Rubicone: Savignano sul Rubicane lies along the Via Emilia between Cesena and Rimini. Its territory extends to the coast with a small beach resort managed by Camping Rubicone which is mentioned in all the guides for its particular features.
The Roman bridge across the Rubicon River made the area famous throughout the world when Julius Caesar uttered the historical phrase "Alea Iacta Est" (the ) before marching in the direction of Rome, thereby openly violating the law which forbade armed entry into the confines of Italy.
Roman remains are exhibited in the Compito Museum near to the small Romanesque church of San Giovanni in Compito.
Among the events of interest are the Fair of Santa Lucia on December 13, "Lights on the City" (a summer programme from June to September) and the Photographic Festival in September.
