Passo dei Mandrioli: Between 1870 and 1882 the Tosca-Romagnola road was build to connect the Savio Valley to the Municipality of Cesena and to Tuscany via the Mandrioli Pass. 10 spectacular kilometres.
Climbing from Bagno on the north side, carved into steep slopes and then gradually opening out, after tight curves and short stretches of straight pathway, onto a dramatic, and charming view where the bare slopes of alternating sandstone and marble form high steps.
Then, before the ford, the scenery changes again with overhanging trees and dark green firs alternating with the lighter green of the beeches as you approach the Lama Forest and the more gentle Casentina Forest.
