Montecolombo, situated in the Conca Valley, is a town of the Malatesta Seignory. The old centre has preserved many features of a fortified town with many open green spaces. The surrounding countryside is planted with vines and olives creating a relaxing view down the gentle slopes to the valley. Most parts of the castle go back to the Malatesta period. With nearby Montescudo it formed a solid protective barrier defending the Rimini plain.
