Forlimpopoli is known for being the birthplace of the famous gastronomer Pellegrino Artusi. The town is rich in history having been founded in the second century B. C. By the Romans. Even today it still has a number of fascinating monuments such as the Albornoziana Fortress, the Church dei Servi and the Basilica of San Rufillo. The Civic Archaeological Museum, housed in the Fortress, is of considerable interest.
