Regina Theater Cattolica: Designed by Pier Luigi Cervellati in 1984, the new theater of Cattolica and 'a typical "Italian-style theater", the first built from scratch in Italy after the war. Advanced technologies, three tiers of boxes, 600 seats, a reduced facility for conventions and conferences.
Opened January 14, 1996 with a concert by the soprano Katia Ricciarelli, the Regina Theater is 'the first opera-theater designed and built from scratch in Italy after the war. Done in record time, only nine years - if one considers the years required for the simple restoration of a theater in our country the new theater is offered as a symbol of the city subject to culture as an instrument of civil growth.
The plan proposes the scheme of the theater classic horseshoe-shaped, typical of these Italian-style theaters.
The two tiers of boxes, crowned by a spacious gallery, in fact, be regarded as a third tier of boxes, embrace the audience wrapped in light colored woods, whose commitment makes the sound just perfect.
The architect Pier Luigi Cervellati has been able to combine with extreme elegance and modernity of the scheme fo the Italian theater with the functionality and versatility required of a modern "machine for entertainment."
The theater has 700 seats, 200 more are taken in the luxurious smaller hall below, the site of meetings and conferences
The stage, 12 meters wide and 10 deep features an "orchestra pit" able to accommodate up to 50 instruments
The peculiarity of the "Pit" is to be mobile and to be raised to stage level by increasing significantly the surface.
Furniture, curtains and armchairs, a beautiful emerald color, are signed exclusively by the prestigious firm Frau.
