Massari Theater San Giovanni Marignano: Initially, in the fifteenth century,it was built to be a Church. Only in the beginning of 19th Century, after the desecration, it became a Theater. Lawyer Francesco Brilli who rented the speaker and other annexes rooms, started a great work on adapting the building for useing as theater: the altar became the stage, and underneath this he made the dressing rooms, the bedroom of the adjacent house was transformed into a stand for spectators.

Under the direction of the lawyer Brilli which also formed a company of drama amateur, the theater immediately met with public favor of people from sa Giovanni in Marignano. The theater was one of those rare occasions of involvement of all social classes.
The community theater, since its birth till after the war, worked especially during Carnival, that is from Christmas to Mardi Gras, There were indeed numerous requests for chief comedians and theater companies aimed at obtaining the use of theater at that time . The evenings, the dances, the parties were all concluded at the theater, where the local dramatic company or a company coming from outside performed in courses of drama, puppet shows and other forms of entertainment.
The hall has the original shape of a horseshoe, with two rows of boxes each containing 15 small lodges, of which eight (four per order) form the back of the stage. The tiers of brick was originally inclined to get more space for spectators and to have a better view from the bottom of the hall. Despite the limited space, the stage was well equipped with top scenic supported by pillars that formed a discrete under stage. The ceiling above the stage was fitted with framed with pulleys for movement of the scenes.
