Malatesta Theater Montefiore Conca Since 1998, the Compagnia del Serraglio became the artistic director of Malatesta Theater of Montefiore Conca, a "jewel" that recent renovations have restored to its former splendor.
The Malatesta theater of Montefiore Conca declared unfit for use in 1984 so it has been recently restored by the municipal administration. The restoration has focused on the structural consolidation, extension of services, plant adaptation, and the widened capacity of the stage. The hall, with U-shaped plan, has two tiers of galleries and has 160 seats.
Montefiore Conca is a small town near the Adriatic coast, the first hills between Romagna and Marche. The widening of the town towards the outskirts did not substantially change the town center that the time and man have enjoyed without much damage and retained the original medieval conformation.
The imposing Rocca Malatesta built around 1340 dominates over all of this, being part of a fortification system belonging to the territory of Rimini and its hinterland (as the fortresses of Mondaino, Montegridolfo, Montecolombo, etc..). The fort had famous guests: Louis the Great, king of Hungary (1347), Pope Gregory XII (1415), the Emperor Sigismund of Bohemia (1433), Pope Julius II (1507). From the stands when the weather is nice, you enjoy an exceptional view, which goes up to Mount Velebit, on the coast slave.
In the Church of St. Paul, probably of fifteenth century a crucifix on tablets of Rimini school of the fourteenth century, and a Madonna and Child by Bartolomeo Gentile (fifteenth century) can be admired in addition to a beautiful capital-stoup of the fourteenth century
In the Church of Ospedale There are frescoes of the fifteenth century of art school ofUrbino.
