FOCUS SUL LOCALE

Today's theater was badly damaged during the last war by the collapse of the Bell Tower and by incendiary clips fallen from the roof of the hall.
Only 54 years after its forced closure in the spring of 1998 it was reopened to the public, having finally completed the long and complex works of restoration and renovation that have preserved the ancient form while renewing all facilities and technical equipment.
Hall of the shows (approximately 700 seats) is very beautiful and neo-classical style, equipped with every comfort and decorated with exemplary refinement. It has three rows of twenty-one boxes and a wide gallery.
The high base of an amphitheater that holds the projection of the first order is very peculiar: wide and decorated with small winged chimeras. Here, behind a meter or so,there are the pillars supporting the overhang of the second order and supporting a Corinthian peristyle where the frieze and the cornice of the entablature are set, crowned with attic decorated with statues, which acts as a guard at the gallery. About half of the height, between a stem and the other columns, a scaffold with an elegant lattice parapet outlines the third order.
The classic motif of the tunnel is of pleasing effect and enriched by stucco decorations of the refined custom-designed by Giuliano Corsini from Urbino.
The big curtain by Grandi that depicts the entrance of the Emperor Octavian Augustus Caesar in Colonia Julia Fanestris is a very valuable work saved from the disaster of last war: rich in color and beautifully designed. Other paintings (unfortunately only partially preserved) are in the first hall, where the brothers Gioacchino and Mariano Grassi performed classical ornamentation and figures of mythological-allegorical on cartons by Poletti and painted the walls a faux marble.
In the ticket office the cross vault preserves the single compartment of surviving decorations in Raphael style in the old arcade made by Giovanni Francesco Morganti from Fano(1566-69).

Beneath the auditorium of the theater has been brought to light the remains of two Roman polychrome mosaics decorated with geometric symbols (begining century. III AD).
