Fabbri Theater Forli

Fabbri Theater Forli: Forlì was among the first cities of Romagna to have a Municipal theater: the Comunale Theater of Forlì due to the architect Cosimo Morelli from Imola, was inaugurated in 1776, two years before the Scala Theater in Milan. It was a beautiful, but small, theater proportionate to the small population of the town. In the early nineteenth century the administrative role of the city developed, it was necessary to increase its size at the expense of the elegant original appearance

In the seventies, the will to offer a complete theater seasons to the inhabitants of Forli, forced the director to find a way to use private halls, like Teatro Romagna, Esperia Theater and Apollo Theater.
The Seasons of prose began to be carried out continuously and great efforts were put forth for good level performances ( "La Bugiarda" by Diego Fabbri was performed in the presence of the author, in '79) as well as entertainment. All of this led to a steady growth in attendance.
In 1984 came the first major breakthrough: the City acquired the cinema hall and turned the Cinema Teatro Astra features. The public response grew exponentially, since the 1984/85 season was ushered in two rounds of prose, which became four in 1989, accompanied by Operetta and Ballet seasons and an intense music program.
During the renovation, the theater seasons and then were held at the Teatro Testori, a private theater that assured a good accommodation although limited. In November 2000 Teatro Diego Fabbri opened its doors, a structure that can stand in comparison with the major national theater. "Extra" subscription was added to the four traditional round to meet the growing demand. A new chapter of theatrical life in Forli began with the concert of Maestro Muti and the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala and with "Jesus Christ Superstar".
