In addition to the drama season, the Due Theater is located also Parma Theater Festival, an international event that offers performances of new contemporary drama, Fareteatro, the course organized in the form of literacy seminars for the public and meetings of "Il Caffè delle 5 " .
The headquarter of Fondazione Teatro Due has a long history of one hundred years, during which it was sujected to the most varied uses.
March 15, 1902 it was built with thw purpose to be a bathhouse.
Already in 1894 the Mayor Mariotti had presented the development plan of the city of Parma, which provided at its tenth point, the construction of public baths in a place to be decided. The initial hypothesis, which proposed to build it in the Parco Ducale was discarded to avoid damaging the fishpond and the park itself, once completed the wall of the right side bank of the river Parma, the choice of the site rests with Basetti Avenue, home of the Teatro Stabile of Parma. The construction of the entire building, however, was difficult: there because of a lack of drinking water.
In 1985 the City of Parma approve the investment in renovating the space of the theater: a mobile structure, with four entertainment halls of different sizes, which can operate simultaneously, thereby enlarging the scope of work and verification as well as artistic attendance of the public. The theater is always open, place of entertainment but also training and meeting place.
In the Late 80s, the pool was demolished and replaced by underground parking currently present at the side of the building.
Currently there is an ongoing project to remodel and expand the Teatro Due. The architectural design was developed from an idea of connect new building and existing structures, to set up a place based on the plurality of different spaces and an appropriate structure for the size of the laboratory, the place of experimentation and contamination between disciplines of the expression
