The Degli Atti Theater is located in the heart of the vast complex of buildings of the former Convent of the Augustinians, which arose near the church dedicated to St. John the Evangelist and since 1256 the Augustinians kept a grand number of frescoes by virtue of which it was possible to speak of "school of Rimini."
The monastery complex in which nowaday opens the new "Degli Atti Theater" shows the effect of the restructuring of the late eighteenth century monks entrusted to Giuseppe Achilli from Cesena: a long wing about one hundred meters long enclosing the buildings gathered around a large courtyard and a cloister.
At the heart of this complex and the groundfloor there is 'Pinde' Hall, which people from Rimini know as Cinema Italia, according to a program work that for the recovery of the entire structure for uses related to the show, outdoors and indoors.
A few remarks on the hall of "Degli Atti" is perhaps requested
Foldaway chairs and floors of the stage that rise and fall , a "trellis" covers half the stalls and other measures are explained by the intention of the highest possible flexibility of space, both to adapt to different uses props and to match the needs of 'society information' requiring multiple platforms for media production.
Thus Degli Atti Theater, according to a word play recalls, first, a great figure in the history of Rimini: Isotta degli Atti, third wife, since 1456, of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta "Lord of Rimini."
At the same time it's a play on words that also refers to the individual parts making up a drama or an opera and maybe its effects (Atti = Acts )
