Comunale Theater in Modena was inaugurated in 1841 under the name of the Most Illustrious Community Theater. Throughout its history it has preserved its beauty and has not undergone any significant structural transformation. As it stands, the Theater, is the result of a careful restoration and historical preservation that has returned to its original splendor and adequate to all modern safety standards.
The excellent acoustics, the value of elegance of the artifact, make it one of the most precious italian theaters. Teatro di Tradizione offers annually one of the richest posters in the all region with the season of opera, ballet and concerts, from autumn to spring.
The Theater is a place to meet, discuss and reflect about traditions, about culture, the events of the contemporaneity.

In recent years we have accelerated opening toward new idioms both musical and visual. We gave space for new directors, young singers, choreographers to emerge, but we also wanted to broaden the area dedicated to those musical experiences that 'sprout at the borders' of a theatrical experience
With the 2001-2002 opera season took place, for the Comunale Theater of Modena, his more challenging organizational design, a radical renovation that has transformed the institution into a foundation.
The birth of the new Fondazione Teatro Comunale di Modena - one of the earliest traditional theaters across the finish line of the new statute - was, in fact, throughout the Region, an important goal and an example to follow.
