     Designation of Origin and Typicality. Unique, highly valued hand-crafted products, guaranteed by the Republic of San Marino Designation of Origin and Typicality. In 1995 the Republic of San Marino instated the Designation of Origin and Typicality to safeguard, upgrade and promote artistic and traditional production.

The Republic can still boast many craftsmen and artisans that use ancient techniques to produce the prized local crafts. Just take a walk through the historic centre and you will run into shops presenting a rich local production. Hand-painted ceramics, inestimable works of art in wrought iron, wood and precisions materials, refined lace and embroidery.
